About our membership system

We use an online system called WebCollect to manage our memberships. It works in partnership with a financial institution called GoCardless which allows members to make payments for their subscriptions and other events seamlessly via the Direct Debit process. 

To join WPS

  • Start here:  https://webcollect.org.uk/winphotosoc, then:
  • Click on Available Subscriptions
  • Choose which membership type you want, Individual, Joint or Student,
  • click:   Add to basket.     
  • Then click:  Checkout (top right)  
  • Follow the prompts which will set up a WebCollect Id, take you through some essential information about you, some optional information about your interests and then payment setup

Once we receive confirmation of your payment and setup in WebCollect we will request an Id for you which will give you access to the members-only area on our website.

We’ll add your email address to our weekly Newsletter where you will hear about any events that are coming up.

Only visible because you have membership admin authority

Because of the disruption to the previous season caused by Covid-19, the committee approved a discount for renewing members.

The Membership Subscription rates for 2022/23 are:

  • Renewing Full Membership (including Covid-19 Loyalty Discount): £67
  • Renewing Joint Membership (including Covid-19 Loyalty Discount): £115
  • New Full Membership: £83
  • New Joint Membership (2 people residing at same address): £145
  • Student Membership (Full time students under the age of 21): £10

Refreshments

In previous years the Tuesday evening interval refreshments were prepared and served by volunteer members. Under our new contract with Hampshire Cultural Trust, the Arc café is open for members to buy hot and cold drinks as well as beer and wine. To save time in the interval it os recommended that you pre-order your drinks so they are waiting for you at the break.

For the special centenary season, the treasurer proposed a reduced rate for renewing members, which was approved at the 2023 AGM.

The Membership Subscription rates for 2023/24 are:

  • Renewing Full Membership: £75
  • Renewing Joint Membership: £130
  • New Full Membership: £90
  • New Joint Membership (2 people residing at same address): £160
  • Student Membership (Full time students under the age of 21): £10

Refreshments

The preferred method for payment, especially subscriptions, is a bank transfer because we incur no fees; the Paypal fee is around £2.75 for a subscription.

It’s also much easier to reconcile bank transactions than PayPal ones.

If you cannot do a bank transfer, then please contact the membership secretary who will advise how PayPal can be used for your subscription. 

Full Members

If you are an existing member of the Society you may renew your membership and choose your payment method by clicking the button below.

Please note that

  • in line with the Society’s Accessibility Policy, if you require a reserved seat at meetings for medical reasons, please contact the Treasurer.
  • Renewing members are offered a reduced rate for the 2023-24 season.

Subscription payment

 If any of your personal information has changed, you can now update it yourself.

Important personal information that the Society holds includes:

  • Name, address, mobile & landline numbers,
  • Preferred E-mail address,
  • Photographic accreditations,
  • Your own web-site for your photographs (if applicable).

When you logon on to pay your subscription, please check your details.

Just click on MY WINPHOTOSOC where you can edit your contact information, address, and other details.

When you pay online by bank transfer, please ignore the weird bank reference shown in your account under My Profile. Use SUB (initial) (lastname) as the reference.

If you have received a formal invitation to join the Society from the Treasurer / Membership Secretary

  • Pay your subscription by clicking the button below.
  • As a new member, you should have been authorised to activate your account in WebCollect.
  • If this is your first time, click on the link to “Reset my password” and follow the prompts.
  • After logging on, please click on MY WINPHOTOSOC and complete your contact information, address, and other details.
  • Important: Please note that by clicking this button, you:
    • Confirm that you are sixteen years of age or over,
    • Agree to abide by the Constitution of Winchester Photographic Society,
    • Accept the Privacy Policy of Winchester Photographic Society.
